Reliability Growth Analysis

The Mantua Group delivers Reliability Growth analysis using RWB — tracking the improvement in system reliability over development testing, field deployment and corrective action programmes using Duane, AMSAA/Crow and Crow-Extended models to demonstrate progress toward reliability targets.

  • Crow-AMSAA (NHPP Power Law) model
  • Duane reliability growth model
  • Crow-Extended with delayed fixes
  • Growth rate and projection
  • Ideal growth curve comparison
  • Confidence bounds on MTBF
  • Failure mode stratification
  • MIL-HDBK-189C compliant analysis

Why Choose RWB Reliability Growth

Reliability growth tracking provides objective, statistically grounded evidence of improvement — distinguishing genuine reliability improvement from random variation. RWB implements the industry-standard Crow-AMSAA methodology used by defence, aerospace and complex system developers worldwide.

📈

Crow-AMSAA Model

The Crow-AMSAA (Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process — Power Law) model is the defence and aerospace standard for reliability growth tracking. RWB fits the model to cumulative failure data from development testing or early field deployment, estimating the growth rate parameter β and intensity function that characterise the improvement trajectory.

📋

Duane Growth Plotting

The Duane model plots cumulative MTBF against cumulative test time on log-log axes — a straight line indicating constant growth rate. RWB generates Duane plots for visual assessment of growth consistency and trend, complementing the statistical Crow-AMSAA analysis with an intuitive graphical representation.

⛹

Crow-Extended with Delayed Fixes

The Crow-Extended model handles programmes where corrective actions are implemented in batches rather than immediately — accounting for the lag between failure mode observation and corrective action deployment. Critical for phased development programmes and field retrofit campaigns.

📊

MTBF Projection and Target Tracking

Project future MTBF — at a planned test duration or field operating time — to assess whether the programme is on track to achieve the reliability target. Identify the additional testing or corrective action required to close the gap between current demonstrated reliability and contractual or programme target.

👥

Failure Mode Stratification

Stratify the reliability growth dataset by failure mode category — A (non-correctable), B (correctable), BC (correctable, delayed fix) — to assess the impact of specific corrective actions and project the reliability improvement that will result from planned fixes not yet embodied.

🎓

Programme Management Support

TMG integrates reliability growth tracking into reliability programme management — providing monthly growth reports, corrective action tracking and MIL-HDBK-189C compliant analysis in formats suitable for programme review, customer reporting and contractual demonstration milestones.

How The Mantua Group Works With You

Every organisation is at a different point in its reliability journey. We match our engagement to where you are — from full hands-on delivery through to training your team to self-sufficiency.

We Do — You Learn

TMG leads the full implementation with your team participating throughout to build genuine capability alongside delivery. Ideal for first-time deployments or when internal resources are stretched.

We Do Together

Our most common model. TMG engineers work alongside your maintenance, operations and engineering teams in structured workshops — combining their asset knowledge with our analytical methodology to produce models your team trusts and owns.

We Train — You Do

For teams building internal capability, TMG delivers structured training covering software operation, methodology, and integration. Available as public courses or dedicated onsite delivery across Australia and the United States.

Independent Review & Audit

TMG provides independent technical review of existing models and regulatory submissions — assessing methodology rigour, data quality and standards compliance. Particularly valuable ahead of AER determinations, investment board presentations or safety audits.
