Why Choose RWB FMECA
FMECA is the foundation of reliability engineering — systematically working through every way a system can fail before it does. RWB provides a structured, traceable FMECA environment that links failure modes to prediction data, fault trees and maintenance strategies.
Functional and Hardware FMEA
RWB supports both functional FMEA — analysing failure of functions regardless of physical implementation — and hardware FMEA — tracing failure modes to specific components. TMG facilitates structured FMEA workshops with your cross-functional engineering, operations and maintenance teams to ensure completeness.
Criticality Analysis (MIL-STD-1629A)
Quantitative criticality analysis ranks failure modes by their combined probability and consequence severity — producing a criticality matrix that directs corrective action effort to the highest-risk failure modes. TMG applies MIL-STD-1629A criticality methods across defence, aerospace, nuclear and critical infrastructure applications.
AIAG & VDA FMEA (DFMEA & PFMEA)
For automotive and manufacturing applications, RWB implements the AIAG & VDA harmonised FMEA methodology — covering Design FMEA and Process FMEA with Severity, Occurrence and Detection ratings and the updated AP (Action Priority) classification replacing legacy RPN thresholds.
Single Point Failure Identification
Identify single points of failure — individual components whose failure immediately causes a critical or catastrophic system-level effect without any redundancy or mitigation. Single point failures require specific design review, enhanced inspection or redundancy justification in safety case submissions.
Integration with Prediction and FTA
RWB links FMECA directly to reliability prediction data — failure rates from MIL-HDBK-217F, FIDES or field Weibull analysis populate criticality calculations automatically. FMECA results also feed into fault tree models, closing the loop between failure mode identification and system-level risk quantification.
Facilitation & Documentation
TMG facilitates FMECA workshops with your cross-functional teams — bringing structured methodology, subject matter preparation and RWB expertise. We document findings in formats compatible with your quality management system, safety case structure and regulatory requirements.
How The Mantua Group Works With You
Every organisation is at a different point in its reliability journey. We match our engagement to where you are — from full hands-on delivery through to training your team to self-sufficiency.
We Do — You Learn
TMG leads the full implementation with your team participating throughout to build genuine capability alongside delivery. Ideal for first-time deployments or when internal resources are stretched.
We Do Together
Our most common model. TMG engineers work alongside your maintenance, operations and engineering teams in structured workshops — combining their asset knowledge with our analytical methodology to produce models your team trusts and owns.
We Train — You Do
For teams building internal capability, TMG delivers structured training covering software operation, methodology, and integration. Available as public courses or dedicated onsite delivery across Australia and the United States.
Independent Review & Audit
TMG provides independent technical review of existing models and regulatory submissions — assessing methodology rigour, data quality and standards compliance. Particularly valuable ahead of AER determinations, investment board presentations or safety audits.
Identify Failures Before They Happen
Whether you need a compliance FMECA for a safety case, a design review FMEA for a new asset, or your team trained in FMECA methodology — The Mantua Group is ready to help.
