Why Choose RWB System Safety Assessment
System Safety Assessment is the structured process by which complex systems demonstrate that their safety objectives are met — from top-level hazard identification through to component-level verification of failure rate and independence requirements. RWB provides the integrated analysis environment that ARP4761 and ISO 26262 safety cases require.
Functional Hazard Assessment
The Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) systematically identifies and classifies the hazardous effects of functional failures at the aircraft, system or sub-system level. Each failure condition is classified by severity — Catastrophic, Hazardous, Major, Minor, No Safety Effect — establishing the safety objectives that drive subsequent PSSA and SSA work.
PSSA — Architecture Safety Case
The Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) demonstrates that the proposed system architecture can, in principle, meet the safety objectives established by the FHA. PSSA derives safety requirements for each system function and allocates them to hardware and software — establishing the Development Assurance Level (DAL) for each item.
SSA — Verification and Closure
The System Safety Assessment (SSA) verifies that the implemented system meets all safety objectives — combining quantitative fault tree analysis, qualitative independence arguments and common cause analysis into a complete safety case. TMG delivers SSA documentation in formats accepted by EASA, FAA, CASA and defence certification authorities.
Common Cause Analysis
Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA), Common Mode Analysis (CMA) and Particular Risk Analysis (PRA) identify failure causes that could simultaneously defeat independent protection layers — defeating the independence assumptions that the quantitative safety case relies on. RWB integrates these analyses within the SSA documentation structure.
ISO 26262 Automotive Safety
For automotive applications, RWB supports ISO 26262 Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), ASIL determination and safety goal derivation — the automotive equivalent of ARP4761 FHA. TMG delivers HARA, item definition, safety concept and technical safety concept documentation across powertrain, chassis and advanced driver assistance applications.
Certification Authority Submission
TMG structures SSA evidence packages for direct submission to certification authorities — EASA CS-25, FAA FAR-25, CASA, JCAB and defence equivalents. We manage certification liaison, respond to authority questions and prepare supplementary analysis to resolve findings — reducing the certification schedule risk associated with novel or complex safety cases.
How The Mantua Group Works With You
Every organisation is at a different point in its reliability journey. We match our engagement to where you are — from full hands-on delivery through to training your team to self-sufficiency.
We Do — You Learn
TMG leads the full implementation with your team participating throughout to build genuine capability alongside delivery. Ideal for first-time deployments or when internal resources are stretched.
We Do Together
Our most common model. TMG engineers work alongside your maintenance, operations and engineering teams in structured workshops — combining their asset knowledge with our analytical methodology to produce models your team trusts and owns.
We Train — You Do
For teams building internal capability, TMG delivers structured training covering software operation, methodology, and integration. Available as public courses or dedicated onsite delivery across Australia and the United States.
Independent Review & Audit
TMG provides independent technical review of existing models and regulatory submissions — assessing methodology rigour, data quality and standards compliance. Particularly valuable ahead of AER determinations, investment board presentations or safety audits.
Build Your Safety Case
Whether you need FHA, PSSA, SSA or HARA for a certification programme, or independent review of an existing safety case — The Mantua Group is ready to help.
